Ideals that keep Hartbreakers beating

Where a love of design and community unite to energize a city

My Story

I’m Eric Hart, Owner of Hartbreakers Creative

I’m an eighth-generation Syracusan, ninth-generation Onondaga County resident and I’m currently the sole member of the design studio, Hartbreakers Creative.

I received my BFA in Communications Design from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts in 2010.

Feeling that Syracuse, NY wasn’t equipped to provide me the career experience I wanted, I left for New York City. 3 years later I found myself in Tokyo, Japan. I shared my time between the two cities for the following 10 years.

During this time, my range of design work encompassed everything from small mom & pop design shops to huge multi-national ad agencies. I enjoyed working in-house as a designer for local Japanese tech companies and multiple world-famous global video streaming platforms.

After a whirlwind global design adventure I realized that now is a perfect time to come back home to Syracuse. I feel fulfilled with the time I’ve spent away, Syracuse is undergoing a new renaissance, and my family is finally ready to settle down. I’m excited to bring my design experience and passion back home to Syracuse to help my local community.

Why “Hartbreakers”?

Love is power

This is true for the world at large but also for companies, organizations and brands. It’s the power you get from your customers’ love of your product and the power you give yourself when you love what you do.

That love-as-power can break new ground, break barriers, and break expectations.

Through its design work, Hartbreakers Creative gives the love and attention that is needed to empower clients to break through and achieve their goals.

The Hartbreakers Mission

Give back, empower and inspire

I’ve started this company so I can give back to my local Syracuse community by offering my design services to local businesses and organizations that are in need of design, marketing and consulting help. Through my design work, my goal is to have a positive impact on the community that raised me and to inspire the next generation of artists, designers, and thought leaders.
